Reducing the quantity of products that are thrown away at the end of their useful livesThe amount of waste material produced by business continues to rise. The disposal of waste by conventional means, such as landfill or incineration, represents an unsustainable loss of raw material resources and poses a major problem to society as waste disposal facilities reach the limit of their capacity.
In line with developing regulatory requirements and our goal of being a ‘better company’ in the community, we take our share of the responsibility for what eventually happens to the products we sell after they reach the end of their useful life and our clients want to dispose of them.
It is our policy to:· Participate in schemes to take-back, recover, re-use and recycle various categories of waste. We are WEEE registered and ISO14001 compliant. · Work with suppliers to design products that can be recycled at end of life. · Work with suppliers to develop products that use recycled materials in their manufacture. · Work with suppliers of products that contain hazardous materials, to develop products which are easier or less hazardous to recycle. |
