Provide products that are efficient in use and manufacture and reduce the energy to run our company.

Climate change is arguably the greatest threat to the world’s environment.

We contribute indirectly to climate change by selling appliances and other products that need energy to manufacture and/or operate. We can reduce our impact through improving the energy efficiency of our products, their manufacture and transport.

We also contribute to climate change through the heating and lighting requirements of our premises and through the exhaust emissions from our vehicle fleet.

It is our policy to:

· Identify all possible sources of greenhouse gas emissions in the business.

· Reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our operations.

· Investigate the opportunities for buying or generating energy from renewable sources or low carbon technologies as part of our development.

· Reduce the quantity of mains water used.

· Reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our vehicle fleet, in relation to the quantity of goods handled.

· Work with suppliers to develop more energy efficient products and promote these to our clients.

· Provide accurate energy efficiency labelling and information, so that our clients can make informed choices when purchasing electrical goods.

The ISO14001 environmental management standard exists to help organisations minimize how their operations negatively affect the environment and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

ISO14001 is the international specification for an environmental management system. It specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining environmental aspects and impacts of products/activities/services, planning environmental objectives and measurable targets, implementation and operation of programs to meet objectives and targets, checking and corrective action, and management review.

The overall idea is to establish an organised approach to systematically reduce the impact of the environmental aspects which an organization can control. Effective tools for the analysis of environmental aspects of an organization and for the generation of options for improvement are provided by the concept of Cleaner Production.
